A
very rare and local species in Belgium, only occuring in the province
of Namur and Luxembourg. The first confirmed record for our country was on 01 June
1997 at Lessive.
The larva lives on the leaf underside of several Rosaceae, like Prunus spinosa, Crataegus, Malus, Cotoneaster, Sorbus, Cydonia and Mespilus. Occasionally it had been found on Betula. It mines only in the young leaves of the food plant, forming a gallery leading to a blotch.
The
adults have all been seen during June and July.
