A rather rare species in Belgium, known from 3 provinces only.

The larva makes a mine in a leaf of Epilobium hirsutum, E. montanum, E. palustre or E. tetragonum. It hibernates and pupates in spring in the blotch-mine.

The adults fly from June till mid August.
