A
rather rare species in Belgium, only known from the southern provinces.
The
egg is laid on the underside, usually not far from the midrib of mainly Rosa, but also on Filipendula and Sanguisorba. Pupates in a dark greenish brown cocoon spun in leaf litter.
The
adults fly in one generation a year, mainly in July.
ID
mine: starts as a narrow highly contorted gallery, then adopts a
straighter course, following the leaf margin which it follows closely
or progressing in a series of "S" turns in the centre of the leaf and
eventually the gallery widens into a blotch. Usually many mines can be found together on the same leaf, often with Coptotriche angusticolella.
