A
common species in Belgium.
The
larva makes a mine in the leaves of Crataegus, Malus, Mespilus, Pyrus and Prunus. Mine starts
as a gallery, filled with blackbrown frass, leading to a large blotch
with black frass.
It pupates in a black cocoon spun on or just below the soil surface.
The
adults fly in one generation a year during June.
