Recently discovered
for the first time in Belgium in all provinces during August 2007.
Also recently observed in The Netherlands (2004).
The
egg is laid on a wing of the fruits of Acer campestre.
The monophagous larva makes an irregular gallery leading into the
seeds. In the spring it feeds on buds. The larvae of the latest
generation overwinter in hibernacula and spin their cocoons in
spring.
The
adults fly in two or sometimes three generations a year;
onwards
during April and May, during July and during September and
October.
