A
common but local species in Belgium, mainly known from the southern provinces.
The
larva makes a leafmine usually starting close to a rib of Rosa and sometimes also on Sanguisorba. It
pupates in a cocoon, generally spun on the surface
of a leaf or a leaf-stalk.
The
adults fly in two generations a year; during May and August.
ID
mine: a long, sinuous gallery, frequently crossing over. The
initially gallery is narrow and completely filled with greenish grey
frass, later it widens and the frass is more variable now and black in
colour, always leaving broad clear margins.
