A
common species in Belgium.
The
larva makes a leafmine usually starting close to a rib on the upperside of a leaf of Castanea sativa and Quercus. Pupates in a bright reddish brown cocoon.
The
adults fly in two generations a year; during May and June and again in September till early October.
ID
mine: a long, sinuous gallery, widening gradually and when fresh entirely filled with green frass laid in arches.
