Catalogue
of the Lepidoptera of Belgium

Agrochola lota (Clerck, 1759)

A rather common species throughout Belgium.

When young, the larva lives on the catkins of Salix, Populus and  Alnus species; later on it also feeds on the leaves. Hibernates as an egg, usually laid singly on the twigs of the foodplant.

The adults fly from late August till mid November in one generation a year. They come to light and sugar.
