Catalogue
of the Lepidoptera of Belgium

Meganola strigula ([Denis & Schiffermüller], 1775)

A very rare and local species in Belgium, mainly confined to the south of the country.

The larva lives mainly on Quercus, rarely on other trees like Fagus sylvatica, Tilia and Prunus domestica. It hibernates as young larva and pupates in a cocoon attached on a twig of the food plant.

The adults fly from mid June till early August. They come to light and sugar.
