A widespread species in Belgium, very rare and local in Flanders and rare in the south of the country.
The
larva lives mainly on Betula. Hibernates as a pupa, sometimes twice, in a loose cocoon among plant debris or underground.
The
adults fly from late April till July. They come to light.
