Hipparchia semele (Linnaeus, 1758)

A local species in Belgium, mainly observed in the coastal dunes and the Kempen in the north, and the Condroz and Lorraine in the south. This species is vulnerable in Flanders, and critically endangered in the rest of the country.

The larva lives on Gramineae.

The adults fly from mid July till the beginning of September.
