In Flanders only one population in the extreme south-west of the province of West-Vlaanderen, regularly enforced with vagrants. Still more widespread in the southern part of Belgium. Threatened!

The larva lives on different species of Viola.

The adults fly in two to three overlapping generations a year from early April till the end of October.
