Melitaea didyma (Esper, 1799)

Only known from 2 southern provinces in Belgium as a very rare vagrant. Last observation in August 2004 in the Viroin.

The larva lives mainly on Plantago lanceolata.

The adults fly in two generations a year: in May-June and from July till September.
