Borkhausenia fuscescens (Haworth, 1828)

A locally uncommon species, only in the northern and central part of Belgium observed.

The larva lives on plant material like dead leaves, also in birds' nest.

The adults fly from mid June towards August. They come to light. More found indoors than outside in nature.

ID: the only similar looking species is B. luridicomella, which has a yellowish vertex instead of brown-grey of this species.
