Batia lunaris (Haworth, 1828)

A rather common species throughout Belgium.

The larva lives under dead bark of various trees and shrubs, in dead wood on fences etc. It has also been observed in mite galls on Salix. It hibernates. Pupation in the larval feeding place.

The adults fly from early June till the end of July. They come to light.

ID; very similar in appearance with Blambdella, but B. lunaris differs in being smaller, coloration  ochreous-yellow tinged orange, costal suffusion broader, thorax darker than coloration of forewing, base of black lambda narrower with costa pointed.
