First observation in Belgium was in May 2004, the second one in June 2006 and several individuals were seen during 2007! A very rare and local species only known from Belgium (so far from 6 records from 3 provinces), the Netherlands, Germany and Turkey.

The larva lives on decayed wood.

The adults fly from late April till June. The males fly mainly in the morning, assembling to females. They come to light.
