A
regular migrant throughout Belgium. Numbers fluctuate from year to year. More common in the south of the country.
The
larva lives on Medicago sativa, Medicago lupulina, Lotus corniculatus, Trifolium pratense, Hippocrepis comosa, Coronilla varia and Vicia cracca.
Normally the larva is not able to survive our winters, but recent
studies have proofed that in the extreme south of our country (Torgny),
the larva is able to hibernate.
The
adults have been seen from late May towards October in one or more generations, depending on good conditions.
