Lampronia capitella (Clerck, 1759)

A not so common species In Belgium.

The young larva lives at first in the green fruit of Ribes spp., especially Ribes rubrum and R. uva-crispa. After hibernation it lives in one or more shoots, causing the leaves at its tip to wilt. Pupation usually in the mined shoot.

The adults fly from mid May till mid June. The moths are active in the afternoon sunshine.
