A
very rare species in Belgium, hitherto only known from literature and from
older records before 1980 from 2 provinces. It prefers xerotherm wide
open habitats.
The
polyphagous larva feeds from a case on various deciduous trees, scrubs and herbaceous plants like Acer, Ulmus, Crataegus, Rubus, Plantago, Salvia, Calluna etc...
The
adults fly mainly in June and early July. The males are active by day,
the females are apterous. Mostly found by there larval cases.
