Catalogue
of the Lepidoptera of Belgium

Wittleia retiella (Newman, 1847)

A very rare and local species occuring in only one province in our country.

The larva lives in salt-marshes in a case with longitudinally attached pieces of grass, firmly attached to grass.

The adults fly in one generation a year onwards from early May towards June. The female is apterous and the male flies in sunshine.
