A
very local and rare species in Belgium.
The
larva feeds on Stachys sylvatica, Ononis spp.,
Mentha spp., Geranium spp.,
Chenopodium spp., Calluna or
Erica. It lives on the flowers and the unripe seeds. Pupation
on the flower-stalk, amongst the flowers or seeds, resembling a dead
flower.
The
first generation flies in June and July, the second generation
in August and September, and after hibernation again
in April
and May. The adults are active at dusk and night and come readily to
light.
