A
rare and local species in Belgium, mainly observed in the north of the
country. Also known from literature in the province of Brabant.
The
larva lives on Inula ssp., Iris spp. and Pulicaria dysenterica
and prefers plants growing in shady places. It feeds on the stem,
leaves and flowerbuds. Pupation on the lower parts of the
hostplants.
The
adults fly in July and August. They come to light.
ID: diagnosis Oidaematophorus; the middle leg with distinct scale-brushes around the base of the spur pairs.
