Pterophorus pentadactyla (Linnaeus, 1758)

A rather common species throughout Belgium.

The larva eats the leaves and flowers of Convolvulus or Calystegia. It hibernates when small. Pupation takes place under a leaf of the foodplant.

The adults fly from mid June till mid August. They are active at dusk and come to light.
