Paranthrene tabaniformis (Rottemburg, 1775)

A rather common species throughout Belgium.

The larva lives in the stem of Populus and sometimes also on Salix. Hibernates twice as larva.

The adults fly from late May till July and sometimes till early September. They are active during daytime.
