Synanthedon tipuliformis (Clerck, 1759)

A fairly common species throughout Belgium.

The larva bores into the branches of Ribes, sometimes also on Euonymus europaeus. Hibernates as larva usually once in a twig of the food plant.

The adults fly from mid May till late July. They are active during daytime.
