Only
observed in two provinces of Belgium, but probably overlooked in
many places.
The
larva lives in bird's nests, on stored products of vegetable origin
like flour, corn, felt and textiles, or on a variety of refuse of
plant or animal origin.
The
adults have been observed from early May till September. Indoors,
there are several generations a year.
ID: The ground colour of the hindwing is whitish grey which
distinguishes the species from M. obviella where the ground
colour of the hind wing is dark fuscous.
