A
rather common species throughout Belgium.
The
larva lives on animal and plant refuse, preferring woollen material.
They construct tough cases with that material.
The
adults fly in two hard to separate generations from May till October.
Indoors, they can develop continuously in heated rooms. They come
to light.
ID: The ground colour of the hindwing is dark fuscous which
distinguishes the species from M. crocicapitella where the ground
colour of the hindwing is whitish grey.
