A
common species throughout Belgium.
The
larva feeds on several species of Hypericum,
especially on H. perforatum, or on Lotus
corniculatus. They make a spinning in the terminal shoot.
Only in favourable years, a second generation feeds on the flowers and
seeds.
The
adults of the first generation have been observed from the end of May
till the end of July, and those of the second generation from mid
August till the beginning of September. They are active at sunrise and
in the evening and occasionally come to light.
