A rather common species throughout Belgium.

The larva lives on Pinus, especially Pinus sylvestris and Pinus nigra. Hibernates as a pupa between fallen needles or among plant debris.

The adults fly from May towards mid July in one generation a year. They are active on warm days and later come to light.
